Inmigrantes sucesivos en el mercado de trabajo español: trayectorias migratorias y capital de movilidad

Resumen

Este artículo aborda el análisis de la integración laboral de los inmigrantes sucesivos, aquellos que antes de llegar a España habían vivido en un país diferente al de su origen y que por lo tanto poseen una experiencia migratoria previa. En concreto, se estudia si este colectivo experimenta una integración laboral más exitosa en términos de cualificación ocupacional que los inmigrantes que residen en otro país por primera vez. Para abordar estas cuestiones se han utilizado los datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Inmigrantes de 2007. Los resultados muestran que los inmigrantes sucesivos tienen un mayor éxito en comparación con el resto de trabajadores procedentes del extranjero. El rendimiento de la experiencia migratoria es mayor para los inmigrantes nacidos en países no desarrollados, especialmente si son mujeres y han residido en un país desarrollado. Además, la experiencia migratoria permite obtener un mayor rendimiento ocupacional a las trayectorias laborales cualificadas.
