Formas modernas de resacralización en disputa. La nación y la persona

Resumen


Este trabajo aborda –frente a un enfoque teleológico y canónico de la teoría de la secularización, según el cual la evolución social lleva de lo religioso a lo secular, convirtiéndose de esta guisa la religión en una reliquia o un atavismo del pasado en un estadio de modernidad plena– el análisis de procesos sociales de resacralización moderna que afectan a la nación y a la persona humana. Por una parte, analizo tres casos, como son, la Revolución Francesa, la religión civil americana y la sacralidad emergente tras el ataque al WTC el 9/11, presentando la base empírica que explica la emergencia de formas sagradas múltiples postaxiales. Por otra parte, examino la emergencia, casi de forma paralela, de un proceso de sacralización de otra esfera secular, el de la persona humana, visible en las diversas declaraciones de derechos humanos. Finalmente, analizo dos casos de sociedades modernas donde tales narrativas de resacralización moderna –de la nación y de la persona– fungen como ejes de lucha simbólica.
