Focus and Scope

The Revista Internacional de Sociologia (RIS) is one of the oldest sociology journals in Spanish, with the first issue being published in 1943. The Institute for Advanced Social Studies (IESA) has been responsible for the publication of RIS since the beginning of its third era in 1992.

RIS publishes empirical, epistemological and theoric scientific works on subjects related to sociology - the journal’s main focus – and its various specialist fields; nevertheless, political science, anthropology, and social and moral philosophy are also represented.

RIS also contributes to debates relevant to the citizens of Spain, South America and the Euro-Mediterranean region.

RIS strives for the uppermost quality in its published works. To this end, it uses evaluation methods common to all scientific journals.

RIS publishes articles both in English and Spanish.
