In a aged society like the Spanish, the patterns of behavior of the elderly are receiving growing attention. This article focuses on the migratory movements of the elderly, in particular, their intensity and timing. After age 55, one sixth of the elderly make at least one migratory movement; usually during the same year of retirement (or their partner is retirement), or after age 75, in this case, as a strategy to confront new necessities.
