Although citizens continué asking for an important state's delivery of collective goods and services, during the last two decades there was an increase in the critique toward the management of public services in Western societies. Spanish public opinión about specific welfare state's policies is quite similar to that of other European countries. However, Spaniards claim for a more widespread role of the state in order to reduce social inequalities, because they believe that they live in a society where the richness is very unfairly shared. In addition, they are very unconfident about the state because they think the state handles things badly and unfairly.
