El intelectual y el campo cultural. Una variación sobre Bourdieu

Resumen


En el ámbito de la sociología de los intelectuales existen innumerables trabajos donde se analiza la relación entre la intelectualidad y la política. En los últimos tiempos, la obra de Pierre Bourdieu retomó este interés. En este trabajo propongo que algunos de los instrumentos teóricos proporcionados por el autor de La distinción pueden ser de gran ayuda para analizar las conexiones, sin duda escurridizas, que existen entre el campo de la producción cultural especializada y el campo de la política. Más adelante afirmo que, aunque la obra de Bourdieu clarifica aspectos muy importantes de esta relación, en algunos momentos su marco conceptual resulta problemático. Recurriendo a la obra de otros autores, como Max Weber o Quentin Skinner, en este artículo propongo una interpretación de la relación entre los productores culturales y el debate político que modifica aspectos fundamentales de la visión de Bourdieu.
