Algoritmos y jerarquización cultural: el impacto de la digitalización en la construcción del gusto

El artículo analiza el papel de los algoritmos en la transformación de las jerarquías culturales y la construcción del gusto en la era digital. Explora cómo la digitalización ha reducido la influencia de los intermediarios culturales tradicionales, desplazando la autoridad de críticos y expertos hacia plataformas y sistemas de recomendación algorítmica. A través de un análisis de investigaciones recientes, discute las implicaciones del consumo cultural mediado por algoritmos, incluyendo la fragmentación del gusto, la personalización extrema y la posible reconfiguración del omnivorismo cultural. Asimismo, aborda la relación entre algoritmos, polarización y la formación de burbujas culturales. Finalmente, sugiere líneas futuras de investigación sobre el impacto de la inteligencia artificial y la digitalización en la sociología de la cultura y el consumo.
