Resumen


Stuart Hall ha sido una de las figuras principales en el desarrollo de los estudios culturales. Este artículo revisa la teoría cultural y comunicativa de Stuart Hall. En primer lugar, el artículo proporciona una visión general de las bases de su sistema teórico. Después se describe el proceso comunicativo usando su bien conocido modelo de “codificación-decodificación”. El artículo trata de proporcionar una breve explicación de cómo los conceptos de cultura y subcultura están ligados con la noción de hegemonía y la descripción del proceso comunicativo. Finalmente, se analiza el impacto de la teoría de Hall en los estudios culturales y en la Sociología de la Cultura.
