Economía étnica. Teorías, conceptos y nuevos avances

Resumen


En este artículo repasamos los planteamientos teóricos, delimitamos los conceptos y avanzamos en la investigación en torno a cuestiones transnacionales de la economía que los colectivos de inmigrados crean para sí mismos. Además, proponemos un nuevo modelo teórico adecuado al caso español. En el estudio de la incorporación laboral, como autónomos, de los inmigrados existen teorías que proponen una explicación de tipo culturalista, otras entienden que el análisis debe abordarse desde un punto de vista ecológico, y por último, aparecen las que se preocupan por el carácter interactivo entre las estructuras de oportunidad y las características del grupo. Sin embargo, estos paradigmas, provenientes de la literatura norteamericana, necesitan reformularse para adaptarse al marco europeo. Aquí el contexto de recepción —por lo general más restrictivo— exige un enfoque a partir de diferentes modelos de incrustación social. Derivados de estas corrientes teóricas aparecen una serie de conceptos asociados: minorías intermediarias, empresario de enclave, economía étnica o enclave económico étnico, que describen los diferentes perfiles de los emprendedores.
